FamilyCare expansion passes state Senate by Susan K. Livio/The Star-Ledger Monday June 23, 2008, 6:29 PM The state Senate today unanimously approved the first phase of a plan to provide health care to all uninsured state residents. The bill (S1557/A2624) commits $9 million to expand the FamilyCare program that already provides low-cost health coverage to about 200,000 children and parents. It now moves to the Assembly, which is scheduled to vote on it today.
